When you buy candles to decorate your home do you use them or just have them to make your home pretty?
Question:I have candles to make my home look nice..but I don't like to use them, like when the lights go out...I buy another candle or candles for when the lights go out that look pretty also..or just for it to smell nice in the home..I don't know why I don't want to use the nice candles that make my home look nice.. they just sit their and look pretty so I don't want to light them. Does anybody else do the same thing??

Yes, even interior decorators like myself do! The really crazy part is that I have to DUST the candles. LOL I have lit the plain vanilla (read inexpensive) ones that are in hurricane type holders when the power has gone out, but never the decorative one. I do have a large 3 wick pillar that I light while we are in the Jacuzzi for mood lighting, but then I hide it in the linen closet once it is cool. I have candles in very room and none of them have been used. However, I do tell clients they SHOULD light all of their candles as it does make things appear cozier even when they are not lit as the darkened wick
Yes I do that a lot, today though I actually lit a candle to make it smell nice in here...I am usually afraid of the kids knocking it over and burning the place down though.
yes ,my intintion was to light them when company comes over and sometimes I do .But I also make my own.
Some candles are just too pretty to actually burn.
i do the same thing, they just smell so good that you dont want to burn them
One of my professors told me once that he hates nothing more than unburned candles. He said that you should burn it at least once if only to make it look like you use it, even if you really don't. I always do that now. It looks less stuffy to me.
In the winter I burn my candles at least three nights a week. It makes it feel like Christmas.
i use them! i love candles!
i don't burn as many at a time during the summer as i do in the winter, it creates warmth.
I like candles if they are either beeswax or essential oil based. I don't like artificial scents.
I also have two little ones in decorative metal containers on the mantel. They're actually battery-operated, so I can leave them illuminated and not have to worry about them burning down too far or starting a fire. They look real when they're in the decorative holders bc there is glass around them and you would never know they're not real.
purely decoration.lighting candles can and do cause house fires...so i prefer them unlit and or get a dimmer for the lights..
If i find a candle that i really very pretty and/or unusual, i really dont like using it. Keep it dusted. If i feel bored of it or find another one like it, i will use it when the power goes out at night. I love candles. Especially the little floating ones you have in a bowl of flowers and stones. Oh, you can also put one of those little Asian waterfalls next to it. If you dont have little toddlers going to create a mess.
