Buying furniture?
Question:Hi all,
I just moved in into a non-furnished apartment and just wondering where can I buy the furnitures? Do you guys have any store recommendations? Is there an online store that I can buy from?
Answers:
For your big pieces, like couch, chairs, bed - you should really look at them in person and sit on them. Things like side tables and other smaller pieces, I would order online.
At any rate, you can check out Target, Ikea, Raymour & Flanigan, Bombay & Bombay Outlet, Pier 1, and whatever furniture stores are popular in your area.
Also, so you don't bust your budget, try and buy what you need according to importance. I would get your bed and bedroom furniture first. Then a table and chairs so you have somewhere to eat, then your living room furniture; and build up from there.
Try and get things that can work double-duty, like a storage ottoman for a coffee table; a table where the sides fold down so if you don't have a lot of room it doesn't have to be taking up space when it's not in use (Pottery Barn has one of those).
Good luck!
