What is the easiest way to remove old adhesive from the back of tiles that are to be re-used. THANKS?

Question:

Answers:
Soak them in water, until the old adhesive softens, ( for a day maybe) then remove with wallpaper scraper.

You failed to say what type of tile but the best way is to make the new mortar bed thick enough to place the tiles in even without fully removing the old adhesive! This might sound "bad" but if the tiles will still stick properly and it will save you a lot of time. No one will know when you are done!
purchase an adhesive remover, Lowe's sells one, I can't remember the name; Walmart has a couple of brands, OrangeGlo ~ don't walk on that crap, it's slippery!!!
To remove adhesive from anything, I use Undo--first used in scrapbooking.
If we are talking wall tiles just leave to soak in a buckett of water for about one hour, adhesive should just scrape off.
soak them for as long as poss if that dont work you can try brick cleaner (acid) available at most builders merchants and if that don't work give up lol
