Painting muli-colored?
Question:I am using 3 different colors in my daughter's bedroom. her comforter is striped with whites, green, and medium blue. I want to use the same colors on the walls. Any ideas as to what pattern to use? She wants some walls striped. OMG. I am trying to come up with something less complicated unless there is any easy way to do that. Seriously please.

Our son wanted 3 colors in his room. He liked pink, purple (I know, I know) orange and yellow. In order to incorporate some of those colors we chose white walls for three of the walls and orange for an accent wall. We then painted a white stripe about 6-8 inches wide at about 4 feet up the orange wall (kind of like a chair rail) and then did the same on the white walls, but with an orange stripe. We then outlined each of the 'chair rail' stripes with an inch of purple on the top and bottom. That could be a less complicated way of using all three colors for your daughter then painting a whole wall of stripes. I hope this helps.

First of all, make sure the wall is absolutely clean and dry (no sanding dust or drywall power). Then apply a coat of good primer (like Kilz). This will ensure that the next coat of paint sticks without being damaged by the third step. Let it dry at least an hour or two, depending on how thick you put it on, or how hot or humid it is.
Second, paint the wall one of the colors you want to use (paint a lighter color first, so you can cover it with the darker color later). Let this dry for a good coupla-few days (a week is better) or the next step will mess it up.
Third, use painters tape to lay out the stripes in the wall.
Fourth, use a roller to paint over the wall and the tape. Before it's completely dry, pull off the painters tape and Voila! Painted stripes.
Just be careful when pulling the tape of the wall, so you don't pull the first coat up in chunks. And, make sure you use the blue painters tape, not masking tape or the orange stuff. Masking tape is too sticky, and might leave a residue or pull the first coat up. The orange stuff is for finished wood.
go to home depo. there is this kind of tape that u can put on the wall for that so that u can stay within the same pattern. and for the white part if her walls r already white then I really would not bother with the white paint unless the walls r really dirty. Go luck
it will require a lot of work. i would personally just do one color because the comforter has enough going on in it, and will not stand out when the walls match the bedding. at most, i would do one wall an accent color. matching stripes with stripes will clash too much. i would recommend blue for the walls and some other color that flows well for the accent wall. so many options though, sorry lol. i just did a bathroom though with a faux finish of a few browns and then solid 7 inch stripes over the top of that and it looks great, but unless you want to spend days on it...i dont recommend that either haha.
