Flooring for a beauty salon?
Question:B&Q Self Adhesive Vinyl Tiles Beige marble Effect - £7.98 for a pack of 6 - would this type of flooring be suitable for a salon?if not can anyone suggest what type would pleaaaaase!
Answers:
A salon is a public area and you will need to comply to contract furnishing regulations and consider the new Disabilities Act Regulations.
You will need to ensure that this flooring is more hard-wearing than average residential flooring, and also that it doesn't muffle sound or confuse anyone who has a sight problem. Sorry if I sound doom and gloom - this is one reason why I don't do commercial design, too much to think about.
Personally, I think it's an attractive option, however, I would recommend that you talk to B&Q to find out if it meets the regs for a commercial operation, and also check regarding the adhesive required.
Anything smooth and easy to sweep up hair. Also, it shouldn't be slippery, since water and other liquids will inevitably fall on it.
That sounds fine. It would be easy to clean and mop but it would not look cheap.
I,go to my friends salon its just been refurbished and the floor is fab, black and grey vinyl non slip must be as customers can sue, if not to the correct standards also flooring dint go light or you will be washing it all of the time this also looks like marble, and is very classy,
