Is it best to seal plaster with a watered down coat of emulsion?

Question:The plaster has been painted before but I have removed all the paint off the wall. Should I just paint it with trade emulsion?

Answers:
It might still be sealed from where it was painted before, but best to be safe or else you might have to repaint your walls 3 or 4 times as the plaster will soak up all the paint, I would if I were you. Best is to use 4 parts emulsion to 1 part water.

I would use Wall Sizing followed by Primer
Yes - better safe than sorry and it will certainly do no harm ! ! !
seal it with wallpaper paste first to make sure ,as it will keep soaking the paint up
yes to manufactures instructions on tin , then another coat or 2 to seal and give a good cover & true colour
Either use a sealing coat of watered down emulsion or a coat of PVA glue mixed with water, about 1 part PVA to 3 parts water. That should seal the wall and give a better finish.
