I want a polka dot room ??

Question:Any suggestions for furniture bed set walls. colors . Anything ??

Answers:
Polka dots are a fun way to decorate your room, but they could get overwhelming quickly. I'd suggest going with a background color you love for the walls, then adding polka dot accessories. Try looking for "polka dot room" in your search engine (I found lots of hits on Google). You'll find polka dot lampshades, polka dot wall appliques (MUCH easier than trying to paint circles on the walls, easier to remove, too!), polka dot bed sets, etc.

Remember the 60-30-10 rule when decorating. Go 60% with your main color (walls, background colors), 30% with your accent color (in your case, the polka dots) and 10% with your highlight color (little pops of color).

You could use a light yellow background as your main color for walls and as the background color for bedding and furniture. Go crazy with the polka dots as your accent: great big dots on the walls, polka dots on an area rug, a few on the lampshade, polka dots on the comforter and one set of pillows. Then use a high gloss white on your trim, the base of your lamp, the trim on your furniture, and your other accessories.

To keep it from being too much, throw in a few strong squares, like a wall clock, some thick picture frames, etc.

I love the idea, but it will get busy quick!
You can even customize your own stuff by stenciling big dots on them. Or sewing big dots on.
If you dont sleep for days straight you'll start seeing dots everywhere, this way in two months when you've outgrown the room you won't hate yourself for painting it that color.
I would paint my wall all red (if it's not already) pre-cut paper in circles and spray paint white dots all over the place- Big ones and little ones, for furniture I would go with black leather (or suede) or chocolate brown will work, it adds a little more modernness. Plus, it wont make you go all crazy with different color dots all over the place and different color furniture. With the black or brown furniture you will always be able to work around it!
Good luck and have fun!!
We did polka dots in our playroom. I suggest picking about 3 colors to work with along with a base color so it doesn't get too crazy. I hung about a dozen empty paper lanterns on the ceiling in 3 different colors. They were $1.99 each at Party America. I bought several dozen embroidery hoops in different sizes and painted them different colors to hang on the walls, some inside of eachother. I also painted the top half of the room blue and the bottom half of the room green and used small 2" and 3" alternating circles that I painted white for a border.

We used green, blue, and yellow with a splash of pink
go with white/off white walls with loads of different sizes of bright circles.. then a bright carpet or wood flooring
then a plain bright colours duvet set and accessories
:)

have fun..brill idea
