Wall Tiling Adhesive problems - how to clean and remove?

Question:can anyone help me - i have put up some mosaic tiles myself (ameteur tiler) - the problem is - i did not clean off the wall tile adhesive straight away after i put them up - so now i am left with very hard and dry adhesive on the mosaics - what can i use to clean the tiles off with - i have spent time trying to scrape the individual mosaics but it is proving a lengthy process - can anyone recommend a fast and quick way of bring them back to their glory - i would appreciate any advice - thanks

Answers:
no more scraping, you'll damage the tiles & all your hard work.
mix up a solution of kettle de-scaler & carefully go over the surface, rinse & then buff.
i had the same problem & is what i did.

White spirit
If it is a powder based adesive wet it thourouly and get a plastic blade to scrape off, if it if a glue type then loads of white sprit or the stuff that they clean paint brushes with , but I think that it will be spunge it down with water and scrape off
you can try mineral spirits - we recently put in dura ceramic tiles that are put down with an adhesive and that is what we were told to use ... or you can try something like goof-off.. that will generally remove adhesives - i use it to get the rest of stickers off of things.
if mineral spirits works laquer thinner willwork better
No quick solution, but you will know better the next time.....
