Anyone had their kitchen cupboard doors redone?

Question:Hi,
I'm thinking of having my kitchen unit doors and drawer fronts renewed by this company. has anyone else had this done?

Answers:
It depends on the company you have selected, their prices and how much attention to detail they give.

Our carcases were all still in excellent condition, and we have a very long kitchen with loads of fronts and drawers, so replacing the lot was out of the question.

We chose a small local firm who specialise in replacement fronts, but they also replaced the kickboards and the lengths of plain boarding above the wall cupboards. They also covered all the exposed sides of the floor to ceiling cupboards and replaced four of the solid wall cupboard doors with glazed leaded doors of our choosing. There is now no visible evidence of the old fronts.

We are delighted with the results, three years on, and the kitchen still looks good. It cost a fraction of the price of a replacement kitchen and there was less disruption and less mess.

However, this company was recommended to us and I had seen examples of their work in other houses, so be careful who you choose and seek recommendations, if possible.

No. I had a new suite fitted. Much better than the old things we had.
you don't say what company, but yes ::::::if the carcasses are good just change the doors , handles and aesthetics:::::
I know someone that is redoing it now, he is taking forever with it but what he has done so far looks good. And this person is not the most detail oriented worker I have ever known.
I had mine done by a company called Kitchen Magic. The original cabinet layout was fine, so we weren't going to change that, and the actual cabinet frames were really well made so we had new doors and drawer fronts put on. They also cover all the exposed areas, the sides, bottoms, etc.

Came out well. The hardware is starting to pit, but the will replace it free as long as I am the original owner. I do have a spot where the bottom of the cabinet facing is loose, so I will have to see if they will re-glue it and how much they will charge.

Otherwise it was a good, easy way to redo the kitchen.
There are scores of cabinet companies that make custom doors and drawer fronts for very reasonable rates. If your cabinet carcass and faceplates are in good shape, new doors and drawer faces could vastly change the way they appear.
I've had new doors and drawer fronts fitted and it was ok but in the end I changed the whole kitchen. If the space you have works for you then just changing the doors is a good idea - cheaper and much less messy than having a whole new kitchen. I ended up redoing the kitchen because I needed a different layout
see if your nearest MFI has a clearence section thats sell discontinued stock ,you will be able to buy just doors and drawer fronts very cheap
