Is it too early to plant watermellons?
Question:i planted them last week
Answers:
Normally, you can plant them outside after the average date of the last frost in your area. Next year, start them earlier indoors in peat pots and set out the small plants when the frost date passes.
No, they take awhile to germinate. They should be ready in late summer.
Depends on your region, soil, and climate.
In general, you should be okay if the ground is through frosting over at night.
I don't know where you live, but in most places it is certainly not too early because it takes watermelons a pretty good while to reach maturity.
without knowing what state you live in, it is hard to say. But if you do live in the northern area of the country you will need to cover the plant on nights that you are receive frosts. However, if frost danger is over in your area, you are good to go.
No, I think it is ok because the trees are beginning to leaf out, that means the soil is warm enough.
