Best 3 color schemes for living room?

Sofa?(NOT WHITE!)
Walls?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Answers:
How about for the sofa a dusty olive shade? I recently bought a whole living room outfit at sofa mart and I think the color is called tumbleweed. I have black end tables too and a black leather ottoman that I use as a coffee table. On the walls I used a color called scenic desert from ace hardware ( it's a neutral color) I do have one wall that is brick though so that also adds color to the room that is why I chose the neutral color for the other walls. But you could do one wall in a reddish orange shade ( or whatever color you might like) and leave the rest neutral. Then on the couch and chairs you could pull color from the darker wall for the throw pillows. The one thing you didn't mention was carpet. Is there any and if so what color? I have dark stained hardwood floors and woodwork in my home. I love it and get tons of compliments. Please clarify what you already have in the room cause I also have other ideas but without a picture of your room it's kind of difficult to say. How large is the room?
Well all of them can be you 4 colors.Just say your 4 fave colors.and decide which one it could go best with.
blue black &wite chicana colors
I would say that maroon, mustard, browns with some dark green would look good.
Or go modern or oriental with reds, whites.
Medium Red Wall behind your Ent. and Pale-Yellow on the other walls and Tan sofa.
black pattern sofa, gray walls, red accents (art work, pillows, candles)
modern? classic? eclectic? What vintage of house? What type and colour of flooring? Do you have a lot of detail in the architecture (crown moldings, base boards, door casings with pediments)? I like gold as a wall colour but with black it would be too much.
You can go dove grey or oyster for a classic look but blue colours (ie grey) can create problems in flooring choice. They work well with Persian or Turkish rugs (budget may steer you to a synthetic imitation which is fine but stick to the traditional Turkish or Persian patterns) and a more modern, simple interior architecture. With this scheme the sofa should have a more modern line with colour on colour pattern or a solid colour textural fabric. Add pattern with throw cushions and always have art to hang (at about 4'6 from the floor plus or minus depending on the size of the piece).
If your home has interior trim pair the grey with a bone or sand colour, bone being more grey and sand more brown. Try Benjamin Moore 2133-50 pigeon gray or 2133-40 dior gray with OC-22 clam (bone) or OC-71 sand dollar (sand). This is a modern/classic treatment so you can mix your classic elements (Turkish rug) with you modern elements (black entertainment unit and modern sofa)
I'm not a big fan of feature walls or faux finishing although I have done a wooden wall in my bedroom that is spectacular maybe a bit much for a smaller living room but if your space is large it could work. A wood wall works best with a purely modern scheme (not too much of it).
Oh sofa colour could be mid to dark brown (not too red), mushroom, stone, charcoal... something fairly neutral but not too pale! The dark with the bright Turkish rug colors and mid gray walls would be amazing! Make sure when you decorate with deep colours that you have enough light sources in the room. In a living room you should have 5-7 light sources made up of a combination of ambient and task lighting. Ambient lighting are table and floor lamps. An average living room should have 3 or 4 ambient lighting sources. Task lighting includes lighting for reading, your entertainment center and lights provided for the purpose of lighting art work. The number of these will vary depending on your space.
When lighting your space avoid the use of ceiling fixtures or up lights, you live IN the room not on the ceiling and walls. Try to light the space you use and the places you want to see (like art).
If you have very light coloured flooring or blue, green, red or yellow carpet, my condolences. A mid coloured natural flooring is best. Rugs over carpeting can solve some pretty serious decorating problems.
Oh your rug should be big enough to cover the floor of your room so that the front sofa legs are on the carpet and the rear are off. The size of grouping you want, less than the size of your room (if it is large) will dictate the size of rug you would want to buy.
Sorry probably too much info.
