don't go all boy girl crazy...just have a stimulating environment where whatever they see it is happy and something to learn...
animals, lots of color.and dont' split what was together for nine months...let them remain together without difference...they haven't notice a difference so far...why start that stuff after they're born.I would let them sleep in the same crib even...its big enough and later i would separate them when they got bigger.what would it hurt...where they are now is a whole lot smaller than a crib...create a warm loving environment and don't worry they are happy now and will be if you let them...
Congradulations on twins!

U stated this was u'r lst time birthing, so I know u r excited to make the room girl/boy but don't worry about it so mch rt now b/c babies don't know the difference. Jst consentrate on make the room cheery & bright.

My god-twins r boy/girl & their mom ( my close friend) did their room w/ Noah & the ark. B/c of Noah took a set of ea animal on the ark. boy & girl. So that's a thot & she did the basic colors..like red/yellow & blue.

As they get older is where the colors will start to come in & they will want their room this or that.

But make it cheery & bright & stimulating for them. Putting pic of animals on the wall would b good for them as well as water etc.. if u wanted to do the Noah theme.

again... congrads!
You have several options. Go with a pastel color for either boy, or girl(like yellow, or light green). Or, go with something like Raggedy Ann and Andy, or Jack and Jill, or even Dora and Diego. Something that would be for the both of them. They grow so fast, don't stress yourself on the little things. I'm sure it'll look very nice.
If one crying wakes the other, you're gonna have a hard time with a split room. If it's not too late, you might want instead to put the cribs in an L-formation with heads at the corner, so as they grow they can easily see each other.

Idea for stenciling, a sunny yellow would be great on the walls with blue stencils for him and pink for her. If you use the L-formation, the changing table would be cute cattied, out from the corner.

Be sure to test the comfort of any rocking chair, especially the height of the arms as they gain weight. You'll want padded arms and seat.

Research has shown that stark contrast helps them see more distinctly sooner, much better than pastels. If you're brave, use white walls with navy stencils for both, accenting with small pink polka dots on hers and baby blues for him. Entire babybed sets are available with these stark contrasts, and their mobiles can be primaries.
