Make sure you have a good portfolio. Marketing is also a good idea. It may be expensive for some types, but unless you get your name out there you will never survive. The best way to get clients is referrals from other people. Give out referral cards that allot so much money if they give you a customer. If you are struggling it does not hurt to try. People love the idea of getting money back or a discount go with that.
You need to get your name out there, so offer to do a free home make-over for either a friend or someone looking for help.and then hold an open house to show off your work.
get into free exhibitions... place adds in the newspaper or yellow pages... seek recommendations... seek some dealers...
just get it going...!
