I have painted my accent wall this color now what?

Question:Ok so I painted a 18ft. tall wall in my townhome fushia, the TV box above the fireplace a eggplant color and the powder bathroom all fushia (since it's a small space!) The fushia wall is in a large great room area with vaulted ceilings & a permanent plant shelf, a bay window kitchenette, and a dining room. It's very spacious with 5 windows that have white wooden blinds The kitchen has white cabinets & black/greyish granite counter tops. The hardware accent is brushed chrome. My question is:
1. What neutral color should I paint the other walls?
2. Should I paint over the wall and start with another color scheme?
3. What color furiture will go with the color scheme?

I want my home to look chic, trendy but sophisticated, not like a dorm room!! Thank you all in advance!

Answers:
If you have white blinds, cabinets, and greyish countertops, you need to go with white or the greyish color in the countertops to draw everything together.
If you can manage to match it, it will be beautiful.
I am having a hard time picturing fuschia with solid white or grey, but I think it could be done with the perfect light shade of grey. If you can't find it, then I would start over with a more compatible color for the accent wall.

Hi!

Sounds like a really cool space!

Try visiting the www.benjaminmoore.com and checking out the absolutely free "personal color viewer". You can play with paint colors in a variety of rooms, and see what turns you on. I like to sit back with a glass of wine and get a little nutty on that site.

With fuscia, I would suggest a very sophisticated warmish- gray tone called Tapestry Beige (OC-32). It is one of the very best colors that I use to add an upscale look to reds and reddish- purples. It knocks down the shock value a bit because it is very rich, but not at all dull. It will also enhance and accentuate white blinds, the brushed chrome, and the deep countertop.

You can order an 8"x8" color chip from the main page, under "architects and designers", which can will be delivered to your home completely free of charge in 3-5 days. You can then take that chip or any others to any paint store and get the color matched.

Sounds like black furnishings would really anchor it all down.
Stick to neutral rugs. I'd let the bold walls be my color statement, and adorn that wall with some really interesting black and white prints with black frames.

Good luck and have fun!

Okay. Sounds beautiful!

I think you should choose maybe a light beige or light brown. I would leave the fuchsia. Adds character. And I think that some different woods would be great for furniture. Because too much white just seems like simple, plain Jane. Which really doesn't seem to go with the bright colors.

Good luck and I hope it turns out great!
