How do i get blue prints to build a house?

Question:

Answers:
You need to hire an architect. Almost all local building jurisdictions (US) require stamped plans by a licensed architect to get a permit to build.

The answer below is not true in most states including California. Check with your local building department.

Not true. You do not need to have a licensed architect draw your plans. (in most states) I am a self-taught draftsman with no degree, just experience and I have been drawing plans for over 4 years with every one passing review and inspections. Some structures, (wall height over 10') may require engineering but all that is is finding a structural engineer in your area and giving him the plans. Its rather simple. I could draw your plans for you and save you a ton of money...
