Paint Color?
Question:Ok, my couches are black with zebra print cushions and i have black mouldings and trim. I was planning on painting my walls a light blue color and my fireplace bricks white. This is in my living room by the way. I have an entry hall that leads to my living room and my question is should i paint it blue as well or go with some other color? And if you think another color, what?
Answers:
Paint it blue if you want the rooms to appear seamless..flow better. You could do one shade darker than your lr.
paint it blue
If your entry is basically open to your living room I would paint it blue also.
paint it a cellery greenish
Well I really love lots of bold colors in my house. I have a similar situation. I went with a shade that totally blended with my living room, but was actually a different color. For example you could go with a blue that blends with your living room, or a completely different color that still accents the blue in your living room. I don't know what shade you are using on the blue, but maybe a periwinkle, or a bluegray color. The way they can custom mix paint the posssibilites are endless. You could also go with the same blue, and get a couple of cheap feather dusters. You dip the ends of the dusters in another color (say like another shade of blue, or just white, etc.), then blot on the new paint. It is a really neat look that gives it a textured wallpaper look. You can make it as light or heavy as you want. It's a really cool painting technique that is fast and easy. If you don't like it, then just paint over it again. Best of luck with whatever you decide!
I think that red, deep blue, and light blue would all look great. Use red for a warmer, comfy setting and blue for a sophisticated, modern, chic look.
