I want to get a wall knocked down, which might possibly need a lintel fitted?
Question:Any ideas on the cost please - think it is a breeze block wall so it would not be hard to knock down - would just be making sure is it finished off correctly.

I agree with Trouble, After working in the building trade for fifty years (30 years as a MasterBuilder) I have always said you need three estimates and go for the middle one. The lowest could be skimping somewhere, the highest could be going for too much profit, so you are left with the middle one.
Make sure the builder will clear away all spoil. This is a big thing nowadays and I've known those who will do an otherwise good job, but leave half your back yard covered with a heap of rubble. Good luck with the job - keep a kettle boiling...... Pat.
Contact 3 local builders who do small jobs and get three quotes. That will give you a must better idea of how much it will cost then anyone on will without seeing it. Better then that it will give you the exact cost, and that is what you need. It couldn't be simpler.
only for a supporting wall
If it is load bearing (a qualified builder will tell you) then you may need an RSJ support (again a proper builder will explain). You may also need Building Regulations approval from the Council so check that too. Good luck
