I found that for the lengths I needed they were cheaper than B & Q.

If you are in Scotland Howdens joinery merchants are very reasonable and have a large range. Another alternative is MFI clearance warehouses that are doted around the country (usaully part of one of their shops) you can pick up a whole kitchen for less than a grand.
