What to check for during home renovation?

Unfortunately it is very difficult in most cases to 'check' construction projects after they are complete. I have been a contractor for 25 years and have seen too many bad jobs done by 'spackle artists' that look good 'till the check clears. The best way to insure a good job is to ask questions and use your common sense to evaluate their answer. Even construction challenged people know when they are being led down the garden path. DO NOT be afraid to ask, after all you have to live with the result
