What is the best way to get a shine back into old ceramic and terracotta floor tiles?

Question:I understand there may be two different solutions to each type of floor tile. I have tried Wickes tile floor brightener for £60. this didnt work at all.

Answers:
If you've removed all previous wax or finish, you should reseal the tiles and then wax them. To get a really good shine, I use my sander with a foam attachment to buff them up. You can hire proper floor polishers from HSS but they're a little large for my little kitchen.

Homecare Essentials do a really good range of products for terracotta floors and can be highly recommended.

white vinegar will do both!
dont get it too shiney or u might get a free ride.!..
bowling alley wax, and a floor buffer which you can rent, will do wonders, i recommend AMF wax, at least i think it's amf, grandma used to use it, the name is 3 initials (acronym) starting with an A, they also make bowling pins. you can easily over buff and bust your bottom though.
I have heard white vinegar can do this.
