Should the colour of my mini-blinds match my trim or colours in my room (paint, decor)?

Question:

Answers:
There are blinds available that are white on the side facing out and a color facing in. If you use a coordinating color or white depends on you. I use darker blinds in the bedrooms to block out sunlight and to keep the room cooler and white or light colors in the "public" rooms, generally white to go with the white trim. If you use, for example, a navy blue mini blind, use navy blue curtains, it really dresses up the window nicely.
Check jcpenney.com for selections, you can also see examples of the coordinating accessories. Good luck.

I just had to answer this very same question myself, and we decided to match the blinds with the trim on the windows (which was white) even though other stuff in the room is off white. It's a personal preference though.
Mini blinds should be white or ivory so that you are consistent when looking at the windows from the outside. When doing draperies, the outside facing should always be white or ivory as well. Different colors showing in windows is not attractive or offer curb appeal.
Also, there are so many varients on shades and miniblinds in a range of costs...Don't pigeon hole yourself into generic miniblinds. Remember also to choose a blind that provides for what you want in light filtration.

Question you need to answer before you purchase:
Do you want to block out the sun?
Do you need privacy?
What is your budget?
The best look for miniblinds is that they are the same on the outside of the house. They will blend with the room whether white or offwhite. If you don't like the color, cover with curtains or a roman shade.
