Can I place insulate a ceiling which has recess lights?
Question:The recess lights are fireproof but I am worried that if I insulate around the lights I might break building regulations or worse, burn the house down. Help please.

somr recessed lights can be covered with insulation and some cant, check the specs on the box, if they say they are ok to cover then its not a problem, the ones that are not suitable for covering with insulation should have at least six inches of clearance around them from combustuble material
Most recessed lights come with a canister that mounts to the ceiling, then the fixture goes inside the canister. This is a heat barrier that you can insulate up to, but do not cover it.
