If you can paint your walls - then paint the wall behind your bed to be an under the sea look. Paint the other 3 walls as the ocean (above view with a sailboat), the dock or boardwalk and the last wall as a beach resteraunt or something like that. Be creative - make use of your closest and windows to fit into your theme. You can actually use wood to make a sailboat and a sheet on the wall for the sail.
In one corner put up grey or black netting and put some sea creature stuffed animals in it.
Have a fishing rod coming off your wall and it can either be hooking a "fish" or something like an old boot (could be a planter for a nice spider plant).
Have a fish tank or course and a beach chair next to your bookcase. Dolphin lamp and alarm clock.
Decorate your walls with drift wood and even smooth rocks and sea glass.
Stay away from spongebob and disney - go more old school.
Maybe one of those camping style indoor campfires.
I could go on and on! So, if you'd like more ideas - let me know.
someone was telling me about someone who has a beach themed office. she went 2 the store, bought shells, and strung them together for blinds. (you could decorate a lamp also/insead) as for furniture if you want a more beachy feeling stick to wood, and light wood or even off/white. altho my personal preference is natural wood 1st. and i like the idea of beach sings! its a keeper for sure.
