Would lighter brown accents be ok to use with black coffee and end tables?
Question:Sooo.. I have a new color scheme idea for my living room.. This is my furniture http://img106.imageshack.us/my.php?image...
And I think I have decided to go with light blue walls.. I was thinking of using lighter brown/ almost khaki accent colors (throw pillows, curtains)..and maybe some dark brown? But will it look ok with black end and coffee tables?
Answers:
you bet! This is a great color scheme and works every time. If you want some other paint ideas look in this book. 1,200 paint effects for the home decorator. by Ray Bradshaw. It has a lot of Faux painting ideas and hundreds of color swatches with different designs etc. It will give you great ideas and most library's have it.
i think so. good luck.
Sure, I was thinking tan
First of all, beautiful furniture. If it were me I would go with a deep chocolate color for the walls, light tan trim and accents. I think it would look very nice.
I think that would look really cool and modern - good luck!
Your colour scheme would look better with pale cream walls. Any colour you put on a wall will draw the eye to it. Wall colours tend to dominate colour scheme.I don't think dark brown will work with black. Looking at your couch etc.,I would suggest beige scatter cushions, and accent colour sky blue. This colour use with beige, and echo colour in ornaments, prints on wall, mat, something that works in with the colour. This way you will keep everthing looking balanced. The other colour you could use as an accent colour would be Lime Green. But this would be a vivid contrast. Good Luck!
Yes ... vary the colors of brown. Sand, chocolate, cream. Almost rust with black buttons.
Maybe a stenciled scroll type border/chair rail in a cocoa?
Check out "Taupe 3" and "Taupe 4" Valspar paint colors at Lowe's. They are gorgeous and would look really nice with what you are describing!
