We are remodeling our master bathroom and can't decide on putting on a door or leaving it open to the bedroom?

Question:Just don't know what is in good taste and what will affect the resale value down the road! Any suggestions or input would help!

Answers:
For resale value, put in the door. I agree that bathroom noises, not to mention odors, belong in the bathroom. Another consideration is the humidity from the shower/baths.

In my opinion, all "bathroom noises" demand the presence of a door. Eat a can of beans then install the door..
Put on the door, privacy, odors, hide the mess, resale value, who wants to look at a bathroom from their bedroom, yuk
Every time I've seen a bedroom without a door on the bathroom, the "ick" meter pegs out. I'd go with a door.
In the interest of good taste and resale value, installing a door for your bathroom would probably be the way to go.
If you have a large master bedroom/bathroom, you can leave the main entrance to the bath open. Larger baths can be decorated nicely enough that they would not detract from the appearance of the room (The area with the vanity, sink and shower or tub). However, you should definitely enclose the toilet area behind a door!! Your bedroom should be your haven! Who wants to be looking at a toilet while relaxing in their room?

If you have a smaller bathroom, just install a door. Personally I think it's in bad taste and if I bought a house with no door to the actual toilet/commode, the first thing I would do after moving in would be to install one!
GOOD TASTE IS IN WHAT YOU LIKE...IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT OTHERS THINK..BUT THEN TO RESALE ..IS ANOTHER THING..MAYBE IF YOIUW ANT IT OPEN THEN LEAVE IT OPEN BUT IF YOU DECIDE TO MOVE LATER..GO AHEAD AND BUY A DOOR AND PUT IT ON BEFORE MOVING...I DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN..BUT YOU MAY WANT PRIVACY..IF THATS NOT AN ISSUE WITH YA THEN DO IT WHATEVER WAY YOU LIKE..
Once lived in a home where the bedroom was separated from an incredible garden bath by a half-wall; the toilet was behind a door. Seemed cool at first. Unfortunately, the humidity was unbearable in the bedroom; everything was damp--bed linens, clothes, the furniture--like living on the beach.

Your door or no door thing may have a similar complication.
dont put up a door. Put up a classy curtain to enclose the space if you need to. other wise you can just keep it open and you still wont have a door. So a curtain will work as a door and will seem like you dont have a door either.
