What do I do with old bedroom pillows?
Question:I have quite a few extra bedroom pillows that are taking up extra space. I would like to get rid of a few, but don't know what to do with them
Answers:
If you are handy with a needle and thread, you could always cut them in 2, sew the ends of each and reupholster them as throw pillows. Could be for you (bed or living room furniture) or give them as gifts.or just take them to Good Will. Someone else out there could use them too...
Take them to Goodwill.
Goodwill ppl always need extra pillows or give them to a friend
Take them to a Thrift Shop, and donate them I'm sure someone can use them.
Trash them.
Goodwill won't want them since they have been "soiled."
GOOD WILL!
you will have to give them to someone or throw them away, second hand stores con not accept them if they have been used.
recover them & use them for cushions for the floor for kids or beds etc.
u can also use them for cushions for a bench/chair/etc..
Usually flat dead pillows will b thrown out by donation places so make come xtra fun pillows for the house or chairs..etc.. U can use outdoor material for u'r chairs outside as well as throws inside. u can p/u clearance fabric at fabric stores. If u can't sew... the ask u'r fabric store about STITCH WITCHERY that u iron 2 sides together & make a seam...
If I was you I would wash, steam clean and then sow them up. Put different pillow cases on them and place the pillows near the window or any place to relax. Use em to relax when broad. Yeah that's it... relax or sow the pillows all together, and make a pillow-man.
I don't know where you live. But here, most of the local animal shelters gladly accept pillows, blankets, (as well as some food, toys, litter and all the usual things they need).
Salvation Army or leave them on a park bench for the homeless.
you nearest pound ,they will use them
Throw them away. I am not trying to be wasteful...just honest. I'm assuming these are pillows that people have slept on. Goodwill will probably not want those? No matter how desparate I am for money, I would not sleep on a used pillow! Think about it, someone's head grease/face oil/and sleep slobber is on it! Animal shelters are also very questionable. I work part time for them. We accept blankets, but pillows are difficult to wash unless you have a steamer and such..most shelters do not.
Donate them to your local humane society or dog groomer. It gives the animals something soft to lay on, and with a person's scent already on the, even after washing, it makes the pets more comfortable. I do the same thing with old towels or blankets.
