Carpets, laminate, vinyl, tiles or natural floorboards?
Question:Whats your choice for flooring?
Answers:
It depends what room in the house your are talking about. For example you wouldn't put carpet in the kitchen. So for bedrooms and the hall I like a warm cosy carpet especially in the winter when you get out of bed. In the kitchen I prefer ceramic tiles or a laminated floor and in the bathroom with the water and steam ceramic tiles is the only choice. So to answer your question I would use a bit of everything you have mentioned.
i like a deep pile shag carpet..
bathroom,kitchen=tiles
stair .m/bedroom=carpet
rest =laminate
tiles
Depends on the room, climate you live in and if you require central heating more or less than air conditioning.
Carpets for cooler climes
Laminates are easy clean and look better than vinyl
Vinyl and tiles a definite no in all climates
Natural Floorboards with rugs and under floor heating if required.
Depending on where it is I like carpet in living rooms, landing and bedrooms as its more cosy and theres nothing worse than noisie floor upstairs, laminate or real wood in dining rooms and kitchens and vinyl or maybe tiles in a bathroom.
In the UK carpets
in Europe tiles or marble
It depends on where you live:
Carpets if your house is cold and you do not have a cat or dog.
Tiles if your house is always hot or there will always be a lot of water around
Natural floorboards if you can afford them :-) but not ideal in wet rooms
Vinyl if you want the natural look but without the cost - but still buy good ones, around £25 per sq metre.
Laminate - never, as it bleaches in the sun and over time releases un-green fumes.
bathroom is tiled...but i have a wooden floor in the kitchen - everywhere else is carpets as its so much nicer to walk on bare foot. dont much care for wooden floors...wish i had never had it in the kitchen...they get very dusty & you are forever sweeping up.
Carpets definitely. You just vacuum up any mess, quick and easy. With laminate or any other types of flooring makes the rooms get dusty very easily and it's so cold too!!
I don't let people wear shoes in my house so my carpets last longer and keep cleaner. But of course, tiles for the bathroom is a must for hygiene and drying reasons.
I like carpet.
Tiles are the best, but it depends on wat room you wanting to put it in.
Carpet in the hallway and bedrooms.
Natural wooden floorboards in the living areas, with large rugs to soften the feel.
Quarry / slate tiles or similar in the kitchen, unless it's a period house, in which case natural floorboards can look fab.
Amtico or tiling in the bathroom.
Of course, this is all personal taste, and if you are looking at such things as underfloor heating, you would reconsider this in certain areas.
vinyl, tiles and laminate are easier to keep clean as they only require a wipe
