How do you safely remove housepaint from bakelite?

Question:Just got a great chabby chic dresser w/ bakelite handles--but one has a drip of paint on it--how can I remove it without hurting the bakelite? Thanks!

Answers:
If it's latex paint try a product called Krud Kutter. It's a great household goo remover that is very safe. I used it to remove paint splatter from my hardwood floors, my cloths, and I use it all the time at work! (Paint spills are messy!) It also works on tons of other stuff like crayon, sticker residue and lipstick! Another option is Goof Off though that is harsher.

I would use a product called "Goof Off" it will melt latex house paint but generally not plastic-try a little in an inconspicuous spot.
See if you can gently pick the paint away without scratching the bakelite. Chemicals are tricky - I've used some that will actually melt the plastic. Be carefull.
