Varnished wood in kitchen, want 2 paint it any suggestions what 2 paint to use without major sanding?
Question:It is tongue and groove and it is on two walls and the ceiling and I don't want to do major sanding if I can help it!

Liquid sandpaper don't work with a spit.
"Kilz" brand primer sticks to anything.
Knocking off the shine with sandpaper is best.
You should first prime it with an Acryl-Lok primer. You will then be able to use regular latex paint.
I would try stripping it with varnish remover, let it try for a couple of days the you should be able to you latex paint.
I would sand it a bit because its varnished but check into "liquid sandpaper" in the Hardware/home store. Its great. Also use a oil based paint as that's what the varnish is-other will just peel off. Chk into low VOC paints-"greener" and less stinky.
