Hi!
B-4 u commit 2 the blue, please try viewing the color online. I don't want to sound like a wet blanket, but blues are tricky and overpowering sometimes, and I help people with "the blues" all the time at work. It looks great on a little paint chip or in your imagination, but it's really intense and hard on the eyes, almost as obnoxious as most yellows. That's why they make blue-blocker sunglasses...blues are a little harsh on a large scale. They are not always serene and relaxing.
Go to www.benjaminmoore.com, and check out the "personal color viewer" for free. Paint some of the example rooms in some shades that appeal to you and you might want to reconsider.
The black trim is very "in" right now, and I think it looks cutting-edge. I love it, personally.
If your heart is set on the bold blue, lean towards a shade that's little grayer (read: darker) than what you want, and look at it on that website. Often all it takes to take the edge off a blue is a little hint of gray. Benjamin Moore's "Passion Blue" (2053-50) is a really neat color with black trim.
If you find one you like (there's over 3200 colors on that site) jot down the name and ask your paint dealer to help you color match it.
Good luck and have fun!

A bright color choice for a bedroom might not be a good idea. A bedroom is a personal space where a person goes to sleep, or just to relax with his music or read.
A color that is too bright might become very hard to live with in the long run. Most people get very tired of bright colors, bright colors are not as soothing and relaxing as a more quiet colors. Also some of the more muted colors are more contemporary in style. The colors in fashion right now, seem to lean towards a more subtle look.
But if you do want to go with Blue, try some of the more muted blues, they would be much softer for a bedroom and more calming and restful.
They would also go more well with the black trim, but I would not use a black trim, use wood or white. You can never go wrong with white.
If you do want to use black, use it in your decor, like in the fabric, a mirror with a black frame, or black rod-iron day-bed, some candles in ron-iron and pillows in blue and black.
Good Luck and Hope you get what you want.
Your idea is good but I'm not sure about the black trim. If you'r looking for a classy look and like blue why not a royal blue almost a navy blue with all white trim that's glossy. If you insist on the bright blue I would rethink the black trim and use white. Don't forget that your bedroom should be a place to relax and the bright blue might distract from that. If your really interest in black trim, then why not paint your room a soft grey with an eggshell finish and paint your ceiling an even softer grey you could bring in the bright blues with accents like pillows and a grey black and blue bedspread. Hope this helps
