Making my own bed spread, how many yards of fabric will i need?

Question:There will be a differnt patteron on either side. So how many yards for a full size bed?

Answers:
Take your measurements to a fabric store and get them to calculate. Then get a few extra yards for accessories you might like to make.

A full size mattress is 54 by 75. You also need to measure the drop--how far to the floor you want the bedspread to go. Lets say you want a 2 foot drop at the sides and one end, then you will need about 102 inches by 99 inches. This will be 3 yards to go down the center and another 3 yards to split down the center for each side (assuming your fabric is 54 inches.) Width would be 54 plus 24 plus 24. Length would be 75 plus 24.
Well, a full size bed can mean many things... is it a double bed, a queen size because both can be considered full size beds...

And how far down do you want your bedspread to go? That will need to be factored into your measurements. So you'll have to give us a bit more info.
