Does it really worth to remodel a house w/termite damage??
Question:Ok this is my question,i'm thinking about selling my house,but it have termite damage,my bf say it doesnt worth it because i'm not going to get the money backbecause of the damage,is it true? or not? will you? i'm just thinking about putting on a new bathroom new carpet,paint and make it look pretty you know?? not a big dealenought to make it look pretty so it can be sell for a lil bit more money,thank's for the answers.

the problem is not putting up new paint and bathroom or carpet... the problem is in the overall framing in the house, when people go to look at the house there going to worry about whats going on behind the drywall ... there Realtor has the responsibility to tell them and they will look elsewhere for a home sorry... I myself looked at a home last summer that had termite damage, it was on a lake, really beautiful... the people who lived in it paid over 250,000 by the time they found out they had termites they end up replacing much of the house's framing and that put them in the hole, they put in almost the amount they paid for it, they were just trying to get ride of it.. but your problem might be minor u should talk to a Realtor and get there opinion very very sorry
i know a realtor and i would say if the work is going to hide the damage it would be worth is as long as it looked good, but you might have to disclose to potential buyers there is termite damage and they might not buy it unless the actual termite damage was fixed. But it depends how bad it is
It is good to do a little remodeling before selling a house because it adds to value.
But if you have termites, you need to first get them exterminated. There are companies that do this, and they will ask you to leave your house for a few days while they completely cover it and treat it so all the termites are killed.
You are required to have a termite inspection anyway before selling a house.
