IKEA has some great modular furniture.
Rather than one ong bench type couch, I recommend something that breaks apart and can be repositioned as needed. Guests can move around the room better and it pumps up the style of the room...
look online for plans and build (or pay someone to build) long benches with storage underneath. You can top with cushions.

Why not just building them out of wood and have the lids where they are removable, with the cushions attacked. That way you can use the base as a storage area.
check local flea markets or antique dealers for old church pews.
This might sound funny, but try an old church pew. You can make or buy a cushions to go on it. My mom has one in her house and it's very fun and unique.
