What is the best color to paint a room?

Question:The room has nothing in it also it has no furniture.

Answers:
The best color to paint a room depends on many factors.

1. What direction does the room face?
If the room faces south, painting it a warm color such as red may just make your room too warm and stifling in the summer months. If it's facing north, the red would work to keep the room from feeling too cold. For a room facing south, you would be better off painting it a soft, cool blue, because this will keep the room cool in the summer months...

2. What mood do you want for the room?
Do you want a vibrant room? A relaxing room? What the room will be used for makes a difference in your color choice. You wouldn't paint a restful room to relax and read in bright yellow, as this would give your room a mood of urgency, vibrancy, get-up-and-go... you'd be better off painting such a room in soft olive green, which relaxes the spirit and calms the soul.

3. Who is the room for?
If I tell you the best color to paint a room is lavender and you HATE lavender, then it's not the best color to paint your room... When choosing paint colors for a space to live in, it's important to take into consideration the person who will use the space.

Now, if you tell me more about yourself, I'll be more than happy to give you suggestions for painting your room. :)

I like color, depends on what you are using the room for and the furniture you will have and the accessories you will have in it. I always use 3 paint colors in each room. One for the walls, one for the woodwork and one for the celing. You can get neutral colors that will go with anything. I personally hate white rooms.
I think the best and happiest color for almost every room is a soft yellow. It gives the room a warmth feeling. But it also depends on what styles you use and which room of the house it is...Soft Yellow usually works if you have wood items in the room.or white.=)

Give me 10 points! lol
The best color to paint a room is the color that pleases YOU the most..sorry, you are on your own, for only you can decide what makes you happy.
Well, what's trendy right now is warmer taupes, oranges and chocolate browns. You should really pick a color you like, though. Even if there is no stuff now, someday there will be. Find an object for the rooms eventual use (like a pillow for a bedroom or living room, or a piece of china for a dining room) that you really like, and pull a color out of that, or buy an area rug you really like, and pull the color from that. It's better to match your paint to your things that to match your things to your paint.
I'm a huge fan of HGTV.

It really depends on what you want to do with the room and house. They said that if you are planning on fixing up a room to sell the house, you should use natural colors such as white and a little off white.

However, my opinion is that you should go for what you like. Don't go with your opinion though if you like HOT PINK! Take your favorite color and mix it with white. It will tone it down and make a great wall color.

Don't forget, light colors make rooms look bigger, while dark colors tend to make rooms look smaller. Since the room is empty, you might want to make it look like a smaller space, rather than a large area.

Good luck choicing a color.
we painted our house a soft mint so nice and our kids room and light purple on the walls and the dooors and dark purple
We painted one wall in a room dark chocolate brown and the other three walls were painted antique white and it looks awesome. We also did this in another room where we pained one wall hot red pepper (dark orange/red) and the other walls yellowish beige-we get alot of comliments on it!
I think it is important to make a house flow so that when you walk from one room to the other the rooms complement each other. If you go this way you'll need to take in to account what the near by rooms are.
Depending on how often you want to repaint will depend on the colour you choose aswell. Bold colours go in and out of fashion very quickly and you are more likely to get sick of it. If you choose a neutral like beige, white or cream it is much easier to match furniture and accessory items to it. New bedspreads, cushions, pictures and even curtains are much less hassel to change then repainting a whole room if you want a change.
