Would these shelves look good on a light blue wall?

Question:So I am painting my walls a light blue (sky blue) color, and I bought these two sets of shelves today http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/assets/p... and http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/assets/p...
I will have white trim in the room also, but my coffee and end tables are black and my furniture and tan. So will they look ok or should I get the shelves in white?

Answers:
Blue would be a beautiful contrasting color for both shelves. You having white trim in the room will dress the room up quite nicely. Also, I really think you'll be disappointed getting those shelves in white. With what you said you'll have in the room I think that the black shelves will fit in just perfectly. Good luck!

Yeah, I think they would
They'll look good. They will be a reminder of the end tables and since every room needs something black to ground all the colors together, you're following good design rules.

When you mention trim, if you're talking about the molding, door and window frames, etc., you may want to consider another color than white. Although the white will look nice too, you may want to follow the latest trend and paint the trim dark (even as dark as the shelves you bought!). I' ve just finished doing a home where we did the trim either silver or charcoal. It's amazing how rich and unique it looks! It's even actually quite zen. It looks stunning on French doors!

In your room, make certain you have a reminder of the tan of the furniture. It could be a frame, a cushion, flowers, a plant holder, candle holders, curtains, blinds... basically, any decorative object will do.
black shelves would great with light blue walls and tan furniture. the shelves will just make the walls pop out at you. wonderful idea. have fun redecorating
Stick with the black shelves...I think you'll be happier with them as opposed to swapping for white ones.
I'm going to be controversial! I think if you have white moldings and white shelves it would look alot softer. I read your other question saying you wanted a beachy theme and I think the white would work best with that idea. Black is a harsh/hard colour, it is great to make a statement but i don't think it complements your theme as well.
