Easily remove wall border?
Question:I m getting ready to redo my bedroom. Ive had the same wall paper up for 12 years, time for a change! There is TONS of things in my room, and my room is VERY small, is there anything I can do to make it easier on myself?

We got rid of all of our wallpaper in the entire house. A big job!
We hired a 'Wallpaper Stripper'. What alot of work it saved us. It's an electric hand held flat steamer. Plug it in, hold against the wall & watch the wallpaper become mushy. Then use a scraper to scrap it away. Do bit by bit & don't scrap too hard on the surface.
The Wallpaper Stripper does the work for you. If your room is small then you would need to hire it for 1 day only.
If you plan to paint then you will need to wash down the walls after the wallpaper is gone. The paint store will be able to advise preparation & products. It's not hard - just a bit of effort.
Painting the room will give the appearance of being bigger rather then to rewallpaper. Also, once the wallpaper is gone you can always do a quick repaint when you want to change the room again in the future. There are some fabulous new paints on the market.

Try just peeling it off. It may be vinyl. If not, use a sponge to soak it for at least an hour and a putty knife to remove it. It that doesn't work, you need to sand it to scratch the water resistant coating and use a paste release solution to get it off.
I have to do my living, dining, kitchen..I know how you're feeling. First start by selecting a section in your room that's clear of clutter. You'll need to buy some wallpaper remover...no easy way around this one unless your paper is barely hanging on as it is...then that's easy. Anyway, pick a panel, apply remover (it's like your washing your wall down) soak it really good and let sit for 15-20 minutes... than get your hair blower and apply heat to the panel. Start at the top corner and pull paper down and away from wall while keeping the hair blower going as you pull. Your hand may get hot...oh well...keep going... placing the blower heat between the wall and paper as you're pulling. Some pieces are going to come off easily and you'll think "alright this is easy, I'll have this done tonight". Just keep going. After getting as much as you can of the paper off, apply more remover, let sit, and brush wall down with a scrubbing brush, wipe again to clean. You may have to do this a couple of times. Don't get overwhelmed...stay with one section until it's completely free of wall paper and old glue. This way your room will look like "organized work in progress". Have fun...you'll be picking paint colors in no time!
