Can you make a bath mat out of old wine corks?

I haven't made one but if I were going to..I'd get a piece of mesh, like for hook rugs and then attach the corks with pieces of leather lace, or you could slice the corks into small round pieces and glue them with a heavy-duty adhesive to the mesh or a piece of canvas. the problem with making any kind of rug with corks is that you cannot clean it, a bath mat should be washable. I have made trivets and wall art pieces with corks but not anything that requires a real cleaning just a wipe down or rinse. It is fun to work with corks and they are great for trivets as they can really protect your counter.
