Can you paper over Wallpaper?

Question:i have painted over several times, now i want to put up some paper.

Answers:
You can, providing the existing paper is firmly fixed with no bubbles or loose edges. The only problem you might have is if the old paper is embossed or have a raised pattern you might have a bit of difficulty getting the new paper to stick, especially at the edges. Painted paper can be very difficult to remove as the steamers don't soften the layers too well and it is a laborious scrape scrape to get it off. Mind you another paper layer wont make it any easier when the removal is eventually done, but that is not your worry in the short term is it?

yes if the paper thats on is secure enough and no bubbles / bumps etc
yes
you can but its alot more hard work and it bubbles alot more, just save yourself the energy and strip it first it will be easier in the long run!
Yes, you can as long as the wall surface is in good condition.
yes but it will look crap and take twice as long for the bubbles to disperse and dry the best finish will be obtained by stripping old paper off and papering on the backing paper
YEAH OF COURSE YOU CAN,GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PAPERING
you can but it may make it bubbly
yes you can , but it's much better and looks better if you strip the old wallpaper. Don't be so lazy and do the job right lol.
yes
You can but it might make the walls sweat causing damp patches. If its your own home I'd strip it all down and start from scratch - if its rented I wouldn't worry so much.

Good luck
You can but I wouldn't,strip it off first you will get a much better finish.
Yes but if I were you I'd do the job properly & take it down it maybe messey but it will be a better outcome
If you have painted it before, it sounds like you have blown vinyl or anaglypta, if you rent, paint it again, if not, strip it down and re-paper, nothing will stick to blown vinyl and look remotely right.
If you want it to be nice and satisfactory, better strip off completely the old wallpaper before putting on a new one. It is tiresome but it will pay for the price of doing good job. You will enjoy the beauty of your own home if the interior decoration is done well.
Not if you want to do the job properly. The paste just softens the paper underneath and makes a lot of it comes off anyway. As you have painted before you will need a steam stripper to get the paper off easily now.
If the wallpaper is firmly attached to the wall with no bits hanging off. Why not use a steamer and get rid of it completely and start over. I know it will take longer but you might end up wasting the wall paper if it does not work.
