Im moving and i want to make my new bedroom the way i want it can you help?

Question:im moving into a new house pretty soon. and well ya know my last house was rented out so it meant no painting the walls and now that we own our house i want to paint. MY FAVORITE COLOR IS PINK. and thats what i want my walls to be but..i dont kno what color pink. if i should go with a lighter pink so im not blinded everytime i walk in or if i should go with the bright pink. i also have a pink furry bedspread **kinda in the middle of being bright and light pink** that im not getting rid of so i will be using it again. what can i do to make sure my room is more than just PINK. i would love for some ideas, links to things you suggest, and just anything that you think could help me. i dont' have a budget really but try to find the cheapest thing but make sure it still looks nice.I'm also 15 so nothing too little girlish. and also no zebra b/c a girl i kno already has her room in pink and zebra wouldn't want to be copying her. =]

Answers:
1] very pale pink walls with sage green trim and rug.
a] add curtains in the wall pale pink, the bedspread pink, or the sage.
b] add throw pillows in a print, stripe, flowers or plaid with light pink, bright pink, and sage.
c] add a green/white stripe or sage solid easy chair to read.
d] then pick brass or chrome to frame mirror, paintings or posters, and photos or collages.
e] add at least one flower or plant [ even fake ], some candles, you're good!
2] switch the sage [ my preference ] for :
burgundy
emerald
navy
medium gray [ should use chrome frames with silver, other colors go with either brass or chrome ]
[ not dark brown, it's too overdone with pink right now ]
3] paint focus wall [ bed or picture wall ] in alternating vertical stripes of 6 inches wide in palest pink, sage, bright pink, palest ... etc.
4] or, do horizontal zig-zags [ harder to do ]
No dots! [ overdone ]
No lace, no ruffles, no fou-fou stuff; and you can use it again when you move out!
Good luck, and have fun!

You might want to think about a neutral or a color that will "pop" the pink, not necessarily all pink. You might be surprised that beige or very pale green sets off all of your pink things. Hardware stores will let you look at samples (and there are even programs that let you take a digital photo of the room and "try on" colors). If you do all pink, it might look like Barbie's dream house and you're probably more sophisticated than that.
in 1957, my mother had our kitchen painted pink...(now it would be that retro-50s pink)
you won't outgrow it, our kitchen was pink till my parents sold that house... and two coats of good paint in an eggshell sheen will last till you graduate college, i don't know the dimentions of the room, but i'll guess that two gallons will do the job...about 50 dollars.
If you think you would like the color of you bedspread on your walls, you can take it in to a paint store and they will computer match it for you. I think that might look nice. Really put together.

My favorite color with pink is brown. Probably not many people like brown though. While you're at the paint store, look through the paint sample cards. Put colors next to each other and see how they look.

Don't be afraid of color. I just painted my entire living room (including the ceiling) green. I was afraid that it might be too much, but once we got the curtains up, and all the furniture in and stuff, I love how it looks.

You could try some type of faux finish, like sponge painting. Lots of them end up looking really nice--like suede or leather. Many different techniques.

Have fun with it.
