Husband wants to flip houses?

Would depend on how "Handy" he is. Flipping houses, You need to get in and get out FAST!! Also it depends on your financial situation. If hubby can do most of the work and turn it over fast you guys will do very well. Have a good plan of what exactly you expect to do to the house, how long it will take ,and how much it will cost. You can get construction loans (very high interest rates) but you will not have to come out of pocket for anything but the 2 appraisals 1 as is and 1 as improved , and the land survey. Start to advertise it as soon as you purchase it. The sooner it sells the more $$$$$$$$ you make.
It's a little scary now with interest rates on the rise. We bought one 3 yrs ago and ended up renting out because the market took a dive. Be careful!
