How can I attach blinds or curtains in my sunroom with metal window frames?

Question:

Answers:
I had this exact same situation. And magnets did not adhere to my walls.

I have plastic cup hooks that attach with 3-M double stick adhesive pads. It comes in a roll, about an inch wide and I cut it into squares and adhere the hooks to the wall above my windows. Then I have hung very inexpensive panels with curtain rings from the hooks. I do have to replace the adhesive pads every once in a while, especially after it gets really hot in my sunroom. It seems the adhesive tends to soften in the heat. But they've been up for 3 years and still work.

They sell magnetized rods to make this task easier.
Get some metal screws and they will work!
well you could drill into the frame but thats tacky... they got blin ds that have magnets on them for this reason.. maybe that will save you time and energy. but if you still want to use the ones with the little screws just take your time maybe get smaller screws just enough to hold it up without hurting/ damaging the frames
If you have frames that stick out just a little, Wal carries a curtain rod that springs out like the ones for a shower curtain. They are small and will hold curtains or valences
You can try magnetic curtain rods. Levelor sells a line that work on insulated metal doors and window frames. You can also look into a "Twist and Fit" rod, also by Levelor that you can adjust and fit into a window frame and it requires no drilling or nails. There are also tension rods or spring rods which are self adjusting and again don't require any holes in your frame. Some of these rods may not be suitable for an extremely wide window opening or a particularly heavy curtain because of the weight and the support required. Just explain your situation to any retailer of drapery hardware, such as Home Depot, and they can show you these products and make suggestions.
Good luck, hope this helps.
If you screw into the metal window frames, keep in mind that your insurance or guarantee will no longer be valid...

They sell magnetized curtain rods and also magnetized hooks for hanging blinds. They are inexpensive and effective. You'll find them easily at WalMart in the drapery section.
There are spring rods. If you need a thicker one, try the "spring shower" rod. for curtains.

Alternate method is glue. I have used glue to secure venetian blind hardware to ceramic tile. It worked well.
You can still attach curtain tracks, or blinds on a metal window. You just drill with a drill bit, taking care you go into the top of the frame, minding out you don't go near the glass. Then you screw with Self-tapping screws.Good Luck!
