The teal/peacock blue acrylic emulsion paint, is too bright, what colour can i add to tone it down?
Question:I am also using a strong deep Greek blue that has purple tones in electric light on the opposing walls
Answers:
I agree with the Allergic to Eggs guy. Add med. gray a little at a time until the color is toned down to your liking. If you add orange or red the color will turn more purplish. If you add the gray it will pretty much stay the same color but it will just lighten it some, take the edge off so to speak. Good luck. Sounds like a beautiful color scheme!
Orange should dull or drab the color but be sure to add it in very small amounts and mix well or you may move your new color to far in the "toned down direction".
medium gray
I would use a sponge technique that has a light beige and sponge the whole room over the teal/peacock blue paint. Check with The Home Depot for instructions if what you will need. It will definitely soften the color. You definitely need a large natural sponge. That greek blue color I would not place on the opposing wall. I would do a crown moulding in cream enamel, but eliminate that greek blue color. Too distracting.
