The beauty of paint is the ease of changing something you don't like. It may cost a bit from Sherman Williams, but don't dwell on a bad color choice. Try just changing the trim to white, as well as the doors. You may find you like it better with just the walls a bold color. The gray should then go well with your medium color wood floors. Good Luck! :o)

Spent means gone! Don't worry about what is gone. Do you like it? If not figure what is wrong, and change it using Walmart paint.
The house we purchased was similarly painted -- we got it for quite a discount after a very long time on the market. -- People who came to see it kept walking out.

Since we repainted it a lighter shade to compliment a boldly colored carpet, everyone who sees it speaks to the beauty of the house when they see me.
Work with what you got. If floor is light, and you add some white or sheer curtains/drapes, that will brighten it considerably. Add a wall mirror across from the biggest window; brass or pewter [ reflect light ] frames, lamps,
plant holder; some greenery - helps a lot!
If you don't have a light floor, get a light color rug - with a little gray/maroon/navy.
If it still is too dark, paint two of the facing walls white or ivory, and leave expensive paint on the others.
Dark colors may make you depressed. You won't even know it until it is too late. Have you ever watched Color Splash with David Bromstad? He usually does a color wall painting one wall in a bold color, the accent wall, and the rest in lighter shades of that color or complimentary colors. Check out the color splash website at:

You can get some good ideas there. You may want to repaint a portion of the room in a lighter color, leaving the bold color on one wall or repaint the entire room.
