I want to deck out my apt., but not sure what to start with.?
Question:I have a duplex that has walls of those cynderblocks. How do I put up pictures, paintings, and so on... I am a man and I like my house to look great. I want to have people to ask me who decorated my house. I guess I am asking for help with decorating, like where do I get my ideas to decorate. What about websites with ideas?? What do you think, please help.

Me personally, I love urban art (mostly graffiti) if that's your style, grab a friend or local favorite to do some graf' on the cinder block wall. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
I love the book "Shelter Now" by Natalia Marshall. I'm a college student on a budget and this book offers some great tips.
I went to a local design house and ask for their discountinued fabric samples and made fabulous throw pillows.
Start with a colour scheme for one room and transer one colour of that scheme into the next room and so on.
(If you use beige, brown & turquoise in one room, use brown, pink & burgundy in the next, etc.)
I picked up some lovely chinese laterns in chinatown (every city has one.) and use them overhead in areas lacking light compared to traditional lamps.
I highly recommend avoiding Ikea. That place is tainted with cheap swedish evil. Maybe check out sites about Feng Shui or search upscale restaurants for design ideas.
DIY.com should have a bunch of stuff you can use. You'll probably need special tools to drill through the cinderblock to hang things.

Some ideas are to paint a mural or design on the cinder blocks. You could also use those plastic command hooks with adhesive to hang things with. You could use screw hooks in the ceiling and hang your paintings, pictures, etc, from there. Some websites to start you off are: hgtv.com and doityourself.com. Good luck.
