In re-modeling my bathroom, I want to build the shower walls and entire bath floor out of concrete...?
Question:My goal: To bring my front hall closet into the bathroom as a shower and to install a new bathtub in place of the old one. What I'd really like is to have the shower walls, the entire bathroom floor and quite possibly a wainscoting be seamless and of the same material. The goal is to gently slope the floor toward the shower drain (there will be no lip between the floor and the shower base) for easy care and mopping. (Does that make sense?)
Can I use concrete or must I spend the money on tile or stone?
I'm open to any ideas - it will be some time before I'm prepared to start on this project.

That makes perfect sense to me, you will be using cement backer board over green board on the walls. Of course you will want some sort of decorative floor, not just concrete, unless it's stamped concrete with a color additive
Considering the weight of all that concrete for all that you plan, you had better be sure you won*t bring down the floor into the basement. before you do anything else.
Current tech tells us that you must use a concrete backer board. Use a tile that you like and you will be very happy. Stay away from strickly concrete. You can fit in most new tubs in lieu of old ones, use tiles, too many choices to not make the right choice. good luck.
