What color tile with dark cabinets and dark countertop?

Question:With brown granite countertops and cherry-oak cabiniets, should floor tile be in the dark browns or light browns?

Answers:
It is best if you have the countertop and flooring in similar colors so in your case, I would recommend you have a mixture of browns in your flooring. I think a honed Noce travertine would be excellent.

Because you have a very traditional dark stain and granite countertops, you want to have a flooring that is of equal caliber. So, other than travertine, I would recommend slate or a laminate (wood if you can afford it) flooring. The tgood thing about travertine, is that it comes in patterns. Having the pattern is what actually allows you to mix the dark brown and light brown together and it's going to make the flooring and countertops pop. We want to show off the granite not hide it, so it would be imperative to have a flooring that complimented it.

If you have adequate lighting, it will overcome any darkness the room may have. Some people even choose to paint their walls a darker color, because it keeps with the elegance of cherry cabinetry. I think painting the walls a neutral color, and then having one accent wall (such as red) would be a great idea.

Definately light don't what too much dark colours
If you have used cherry-oak stain for your cabinets I would suggest you stick with something very similar to that. You don't want too many different colors in one room. The three things to tie together are the cabinets, counter tops, and your floor. If you use a light or natural look tile, your floor will be the first thing people see when walking into the room, not your granite (which is a very popular upgrade in homes right now), or cabinets (I imagine they are custom or were chosen to match your cabinets, another popular upgrade). Ideally I think a cherry-oak hardwood or laminate floor would be beautiful!
well, it depens... both are fine, but:

if you want your counters and cabinets to stand out, then use light colors... it'll b dramatic and to a degree sophisticated...

on the other hand if u don't like too much contrast, then definately use dark colors... but in this case use proper lighting and accessories, because the place will be a little dark...

by the way, there is no light brown and dark brown... brwon is already dark because it's a shade of orange... and i think u mean beige when you say light brown... but don't worry pal, we get you... :)

I hope i've helped... Good luck!
