Correct paint to use on skirting boards?

Question:Hi
I started painting my skirting boards with an oil based satin finish paint, but it looks like a shiny "plastic" looking coating. Is there something more matt for wood available?

Answers:
Certainly there is. Go to any hardware shops and ask them to show you the various paints for wood. You can also ask the shopkeeper's suggestion. Usually they can contribute good ideas, too. I hope you'll make your good choice of colour.

you need gloss paint for doors and skirting boards nip down to your paint store and they will give you tips on how to remove what you have applied, enjoy your painting
Egg shell but you are going to have a job getting off the oil based next time try a little out of sight first
You can buy a matt style top coat if that is what you want. However the best finish is from a paint like Dulux High Gloss. Also for the best finish always first use an undercoat and lightly rub down before the top coat. Then lightly rub down the first top coat and apply a final top coat. I have been a Painter for 20 years and my customers always like the finish I give to the paintwork.
satinwood.
