How do i redecorate my tiny teenage room?

Question:I desperately need to redecorate my room. I have a very tiny room that doesn't fit too much furniture and i want to make it feel bigger and more open instead of so confined. Any tips? I also have no idea how to decorate it, i can repaint, etc. but don't know how to decorate it. I want it to be sophisticated, but i'm still a teenager and would like my room to reflect both sides, any ideas?

I have a lot of tips 4 u... ready!

1. first of all through everything you don't need... u don't want a cluttered small room, it'll make smaller.

2. for a sophisticated look it's safe to use only 2 color, let one of them be a neutral and choose your favorite for the second color... use different shades of that color... let's say your favorite is blue, then you can use it with brown or beige... this is sophisticated yet nice 4 a teen because it's not all neutral... use light and dull blue for the wall if u like because this will make the room larger, and use brighter and darker blue for bedding and accessories... use the brown in some accessories and fabrics around the room... that was just an example... take ideas! :)

3. use mirrors! try to reflect something nice in your room... if you have a window then place a mirror opposite to it... that'll make the even larger!

4. 2 colors is sophisticated but it can b boring... u don't want a boring room! So, use many texture in fabrics, a rug, and accessories... also use different patterns... use art pcs on walls if space is adequate...

5. if the budget is enough go for double duty furniture... like a bed with storage underneath... also you may go for a bed with a ladder and a sofa or a desk under it... it saves much space... also u may use shelves!

I hope i have helped...
Good luck and have fun redecorating!

Use white paint to make the room look bigger. Also use mirrors on one wall. Maybe wallpaper one other wall to add some mood. That should do it.
White paint makes the room looks larger. Also some mirrors on one wall.. Instead of putting a bed use a Futon instead. By doing that you will have a place to sit during the day.
The walls will seem bigger if painted in light colors, and believe it or not, simple yet big furniture can increase the size of it as well...
I suggest a light pastel color, then use your bedding to accent the color by using bright, bold colors that coordinate with the pastel color you choose...or contrasts with...like in using pale green with hot pink or neon colors...Keep it fun because you are a teen but simple and organized for a matured look or feel to it...For wall accessories try using a cork board for the things that interest you or notes to self etc...and on another wall use framed art, posters or photos to display...Use shelves along walls to minimize space as well..corner shelves are cool..>=) good luck!
