I have been recently let down several times by a large kitchen company, how much compensation should I ask for?

Question:They ordered me intialy the right products, but as time moved from the placement of the order to the delivery, a number of the parts of the kitchen changed. I ordered a white extractor fan in March, to be told mid May that they now dont do white extractor fans, I then found out on receipt of delivery that they had given me a chrome tap instead of white as they no longer dont do them, then they sent me a tower oven instead of an oven that fits underneath a work top.All the way through they have been very unhelpful & it is only now when I have gone to the top of head office customer services I have started to get apologies & compensation is being negotiated for all the stress & time that they have casued me. Your comments on how much realistically I should expect will be greatly appreciated.

I had an issue with a bank once and had several trips to them to sort out these issues... When I fanally made enough fuss to get to the top I charged them a days wages for every day I had trouble...

This amounted to £70 a day at the time (£350 in total). They also sent my wife chocolates and flowers for the stress...

I'd go with that. A days wages for EVERY day they have disrupted.

the price of a new kitchen plus £1,000 or so for stress
As an ex employee of a well know kitchen and double glazing company I would try for a fortune as they wouldn't miss the money because the owner for the company I worked for is on the list for the 10 richest people in the UK. When you ordered all the equipment they should have told you they don't do this and that, before delivery, keep moaning at them you will get it sorted out eventually - good luck
