Decorating kid's room...?
Question:We are thinking of becoming foster parents. How do you decorate a kid's room when you have no idea whether you will be getting boys or girls or what ages they will be?

you should wait until he/she comes. that way you guys and the child could have fun decorating it together while bonding and making it just the way he/she likes it!
Take a look in your local IKEA shop or check online, they have stuff that would work for either gender.
Buy a plain twin mattress and bedframe and paint the room a simple non-gender specific color like pale green and use simple matching bedspreads and curtains. Get a toychest and fill it with toys for both sex: a few barbies, a few action figures, cars and boardgames. A TV would be nice along with a few PG or U rated films alongside a set of drawers and a closet for their things.
paint the room a basic color, like white. they aren't going to just drop a child off at your front door in the middle of the night, so you'll have SOME time to get ready. do you know the age of the child you might get? get age appropriate furniture and some unisex toys. all else can be decided when you know the details.
paint it white with 1 or two accent walls in red or green or both...they sell comforters with both colors in them for children...green works too...a funky lime color...Look through your JCPenny catalog and see what they sell...
